Susan and Rick from Miami contacted us to be their wedding photographers in Paris at their vow renewal to celebrate their 10th anniversary. The ceremony took place at the American Church in Paris. When the pastor asked if they wanted to exchange a few words Susan shook her head “no” with a confused smile since she and Rick had previously informed the pastor that they had agreed not to exchange vows. She didn’t know that Rick had gotten back in touch with the church and conspired with the pastor. They agreed to add a small moment in the ceremony where Rick could say some words declaring his of love for Susan. She was moved to tears. His act also brought tears to my wife and photography partner Audrey. Later when Audrey was wiping mascara from her viewfinder, she explained she, “found it beautiful to see that even after so many years you can still be happily surprised by your husband.” Yes I do feel a little pressure from this statement. (Thanks a lot Rick).

One of the perks of being wedding photographers in Paris is being able to meet people from all over the world who come to get married in the City of Love. Sometimes it’s a small world.  I was born and raised in France, but Anthony’s roots are from Kentucky. He has two degrees from the University of Kentucky in Lexington. Jessica from Louisville Kentucky made such a pretty Paris bride, that Anthony couldn’t even hold it against her that she was a Louisville Cardinals fan.

Jim and Kelly came from Laguna Beach California to elope in Paris last wedding season. There are a lot of couples coming from the States for destination weddings in Paris this summer who have flooded us with requests for recommendations of photogenic boutique hotels in the center of Paris. Often they ask specifically about the hotel from this collection of photos that we originally posted last fall. It’s a well kept secret in Saint Germain called L’Hotel.

Lina and Darren left their home in Melbourne to get married in Paris. Being south of the equator, Australia is in the height of summer right now. Still, a winter wedding in the city of love has its advantages. Lina had the chilly weather needed to don her stunning vintage winter ensemble. Plus, it’s pretty romantic warming up with a great chocolat chaud in a Paris café. Wedding photographers love this stuff.
