What a fun engagement photo shoot on the cobblestoned streets of Paris. A couple in love walking the winding rues of Montmartre. The area is quite responsible for perpetuating the fantasy of Paris. At times during the shoot, I wondered if we would come across Amelie Poulain.
Here are a few more photos of Hilary and William’s Paris elopement we had posted recently. Anne of Fête in France set up an intimate ceremony in the gardens of the Rodin museum. The sculptor’s famous work, The Thinker, has become such a cultural icon in the west that it’s not uncommon to come across statuettes in schools everywhere. Your university’s philosophy department had one, right? I love the idea of couples tying the not in the shadow of the original large-cast version of the famous work. Only in Paris can such a beautiful object be simply a part of everyday life.

Rene and Chris are Americans living in Paris. Soon they’ll get married at the edge of a famous ocean-side cliff in Scotland. (Remember Rene, do not look down during the ceremony.) We had a lot of fun capturing memories of Paris during this engagement shoot. It’s obvious Rene has lived in Paris long enough to know a great dress when she sees one. She reminded me an adorable little Amelie Poulain!
Both Janet and Arnaud work in cinema back in Los Angeles. It was fun for them to move to the front of the camera for this engagement shoot in Paris. Being Photographers in the City of Love, we had to perform a little Hollywood magic ourselves by making the city look like their private playground even though the streets can be teeming with busy Parisians.
